I AM GOOD AT
This is my core skillset. Visionary!
APIs, feeds, 3rd-party code: Seamless.

Quotes, Requirements, Mgmt, Execution.

La Dolce Vita - in short form
I am known for being approachable, making technology accessible, and enriching the user experience. My work tends to be self-explanatory, via intuitive interfaces and well-commented code. A whiteboard conversation is probably my second-favorite way to spend an afternoon, and to bring those ideas to fruition I commonly work deep into the night. Code is my poetry and prose, my art.
my professional background
A reward platform emphasizing both loyalty & referrals, cash value instead of points, and no need for dedicated hardware or membership cards. Built from scratch, combining open-source libraries and APIs such as Google Maps, OAuth2, Stripe.com payments, PEAR Mail... a total of 21 integrations stitched together into a seamless and frictionless user experience. Hosting at DigitalOcean, configured with a front-end load balancer, 3 webservers in parallel, backend database server, and separate email server. LEMP stack (like LAMP but NginX vs. Apache), Node.JS, Mailpile, Cloud Storage, automatic backups, and more. Ready for national scale at a moment's notice.
Worked to improve the AJE web application which receives scientific papers submitted from a global community of researchers, accepts payment for publishing services, and then follows each paper through its life-cycle of translation, editing, annotation and illustration, review, certification and publication. I learned a ton, including Zend MVC framework, Atlassian collaboration tools such as Jira and HipChat, Git with Gerrit for code review, Jenkins continuous integration server, and other resources for agile PHP development. I killed lots of bugs, coded a new product-selection interface which shortened checkouts by consolidating plans...
